Why do wealthy people think that money rules the world? Is it
because of how much wealth they have, think they can trash
money, or do they think it grows on trees? Most people don't know
the significant of a dollar which is upsetting because they don’t
realize to someone else, a dollar can mean more than what it
just sounds like. This world is a challenge yes, but if you work hard
and strive for what you want it would be all worth it at the end of
the day. Living in this economy, most people are left without jobs,
homes, food, etc because the workforce is getting more affective
with how they control things. After reading

The Atlantic Wire: America's Top Worry Is Losing Jobs Again by
Erika Hayden, it made me realize that the unemployment rate is
higher than it has ever been in a long time. Since the recession
occurred, people don’t know how to cope with them not having
jobs to support their family.
After I finish school, I know I will be fortunate to have that
opportunity of having a job because in the field I want to pursue,
which is nursing, I will always be guaranteed a job no matter where
I’m located at. Everyone needs a nurse in a hospital so of course
having that career; I know I wouldn’t have to worry about being
employed.
Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteWho do you mean when you mention "people" in the first line? Rich people? I think a lot of non-wealthy people believe this, too. And how does working hard being worth it change the fact that money, indeed, rules the world? Take for example the Republican candidates for president. What's the main issue with Romney? That he doesn't understand the working class because he has so much money. He can just buy 12,000 ads in Florida alone against Gingrich! I know I may sound cynical, but money does create a hell of a lot of power.
So before taking us on that link, what article in the Atlantic Wire did you read? By whom?
(Note: watch word choice (significance vs. significant).
I agree with the Professor, money does create a lot of power. What bothers me is how often people miss use money, or the fact that they dont understand the value of a dollar, or how much of a difference a single dollar can make.
