I'm so fascinated in others work ethics which makes me even more
determined to accomplishing my career goals as being a nurse.
Knowing that I will change one's life makes me feel so much better
as a person. For the past couple weeks, I have been doing a lot
of research on other peoples blogs which focus on nursing life
styles and peoples experiences. While doing my research, I came
across a very informative blog site called The Nursing Site Blog
which gives statistics on nurses around the world and how they
feel about their career and basically what they have to
go through every day. This blog also makes sure they have the
right education to educate their nursing students to be the best of
the best. It's never to late too get more education especially in the
field your trying to pursue. Another blog I came across in my
community which is called "Impact of Making an Impact" also
discussed her experiences as being an LPN nurse for some time
now and what she goes through with her patients.
Having the knowledge of knowing that the education is there for
you to get, makes knowing how easy your career can be if you put
your mind to it. Most people worry that it might be a struggle to
enroll back into a university or even a community college, but the
programs available for nursing students are always there and gives
many people the opportunity to makes their dreams to come true.

Thinking Critically ....
Even though I wasn't blogging last week, I would still like to talk
about my spring break even though I'm a bit late! For my spring
break, my close friends and I planned a big trip to Miami. Even
though it was the craziest spring break I have ever encountered, I
still had a blast. Starting with the first day we got there until the
last day something crazy happened but the trip was all worth it.
When we touched down, I noticed things around me for example
their jobs, what people looked like, the cars, etc. Getting picked
up from the airport was normal, but getting into a cab gave me a
complete different outlook on how the ethic of working in South
Beach was. The cab driver who picked us up not only drove a cab,
but was a woman. Huh? A woman is what I kept telling myself the
whole ride to the hotel. In Miami, I'm pretty sure it’s normal to
see a woman driving a cab, but if you see that in Virginia people
would think otherwise. I guess in order to survive in this world you
have to do what you have to do to get to where you want to go.
According to the article The Changing Face of Taxi and Limousine Drivers written by Schaller Consulting, says that
as the number of drivers has increased, the composition of the
There's nothing wrong with having a career as a cab driver, but
seeing a woman behind the wheel shocked me. Not judging the
lady or anything like that, but I always had this thought in my
mind that only men can have that type of career but thinking that
would be sexes. Many women are capable of doing anything a
man can as long as she puts her mind to it no matter what type of
career it is. Men are not superior over woman and I hate the fact a
lot of men now days have that mentality. But to each is own.
When most woman talk about the career choice they want to
purse, they don’t automatically wish to be a cab driver I guess it’s
some type of adrenalin rush because woman want to be
considered equal to mean when it comes to having the same job
as them. For example you would typical see a woman doing what
she desires like sewing, fashion etc. Men typically pick a career
with sports, ITE, etc. But now in this new ear, your starting to see a
a lot of woman take over.
driver work force has changed. In 2000, 38 percent of taxi/limo
drivers were immigrants, some were females and there was an
increase from 27 percent in 1990 and 8 percent in 1970. Taxi/limo
driving now has the third-highest percentage of immigrants, behind
only tailors and farm laborers, among occupations with at least
50,000 workers in the U.S.
